So, one of my problems lately is that I’ve been uninspired to cook. Yeah, I’m sure you’re surprised. But, I read a book last week on organizing yourself and the one thing I got out of the however many pages in the book was making a meal plan. I’m usually good at planning meals but lately I’ve gotten lazy about it. Honestly, when you’re just cooking for yourself it gets BORING cooking. So, I don’t often.
Well, today I did something weird for me. Maybe it was the nasty soup I heated up at 2:00 for lunch when I was hungry but just wanted to sleep. Who knows. But, I subscribed to a weekly meal plan program. Every week they provide a week’s menu with recipes and a prepared grocery list. The meals look really good.
Of course, I’ll have to 1/2 the recipes or something because the vegetarian option was for feeding 4-6 people. EEK. But, if I make smaller portions and I usually bring the leftovers for lunch then I should be fine. I’m paid for the first three months so I’ll see what I decide to do after this. I might reuse these recipes or maybe I’ll continue.
Ideally, I wouldn’t mind coming up with a four week meal rotation with a grocery list to make things simple for me. Because simple is good. Lately, I’ve been eating out way too much and it’s irritating.
Anyway, if you’re interested in looking at the meal plan thing check it out.

I guess it’s a matter of perspective! I feel it would be crazy simple for me to cook whatever I want and not have to worry about the minions staging a revolt! I get much more creative in the kitchen when I don’t have to worry about pleasing everyone else.
If you’re feeling uninspired, change is DEFINITELY good. I hope the meal plan works out for you! At the very least, I’m sure you’ll get a few ideas to incorporate into your own meal plans.
Keep us updated on how the service is working out for you! =)

I try to meal plan as much as possible. I dont pay for a service, I just use recipes I already have or find. Normally when I’m bored at work I will come up with meals for the next week and make a grocery list. I post the “menu” on the fridge. For me, its a lot easy knowing that I already have a plan once I get off work.
I hope that the meal plan thing works out!

OMG I love the idea of a menu planner. I think that would be AWESOME. I would also encourage you to find some of the recipes that freeze well so you can cook ahead! Totally saves my tail on days when I am absolutely ininspired to put a meal in front of my family. While the kids don’t mind cereal nights, too many of them make me feel like a baaaad mom!
