I’m sick.
First off let me say THANK YOU again for how completely amazing you all are. I think I’ve read your comments from yesterday about 10 times. I would have read them more but I haven’t been at a computer all day today.
So, I had a meeting this morning for the church youth program. Luckily (I say that in my most sarcastic voice) I was able to present there. No big deal, right? I had to use a microphone (which I hate using) and present to about 120 people. I was a little nervous (especially about the microphone) but I did a pretty good job.
Unfortunately, right before I went up I got a message from my sister that my dad’s father died last night. I have more emotions than I thought I would but I’m not necessarily grieving the way I grieved when my Grandpa (my mom’s dad) died. I won’t be going to the funeral (it’ll be in Southern California and I don’t have the need to travel there for it). My sister put a lot into having a relationship with him so she’s pretty upset. I spent the afternoon with her and my nephew and took them to dinner. Out of respect, I suggested we make a toast. My nephew said something, my sister said something then my nephew asked me to say something. It was kind of awkward because I didn’t know what to say — I really didn’t know him. My sister shared some things about it and, again, it was awkward because I didn’t know him.
So, that was today.
My dad had a pretty good night and was able to FINALLY have the colonoscopy and endoscopy procedures. The endoscopy showed a flare-up of his acid reflux which wasn’t a surprise because they’d taken him off the acid reflux medicine thinking it might be part of the problem. Since the problem hasn’t improved since he’s been off it they put him back on it. The colonoscopy showed something so they are doing a biopsy of that. Unfortunately, they won’t get results for about 10 days. But, he’s doing a lot better so that’s good news.
Tonight my nephew’s spending the night. His mom works tomorrow and he wanted to spend time with me. I think he’ll just babysit his sicky Auntie.
Me, I’m ready for bed…it’s 7:30PM. I’m being nice and watching a movie (that’s close to sleep, right?) with my nephew (even though he really wants to play) then I’ll go to sleep. Tomorrow we have grand plans to sleep, watch movies, and play on the computer. If I wake up healed we’ll go to church. If not, sleep is what I’ll be doing tomorrow.
On a good note, I’m drinking lots of water. 
On an even better note, emotionally I’m in a really good place right now (except for being sick). I think I lost about 200 pounds of stress off my shoulders this afternoon when I got the call that my dad was finished with the procedure.
So, there you have it.

My condolences on your loss. And sorry to hear you’re sick! I hope you feel better soon.
As well, I’m glad your father was able to get his procedures done. Thoughts are with you as you wait out the biopsy results! Glad he’s feeling better in the meantime.

Wow, Lanel! You have a lot going on and to be sick on top of that! Glad to hear you’re drinking your water. The more you drink, the faster the yucky stuff will get out of you. Sorry to hear about your loss. Enjoy your day relaxing and getting better tomorrow.

No!!! You aren’t allowed to be sick *laugh* Ugh, hon, I know it’s just what you need right now, but I’m glad you’re getting the water in and feeling better. I was a little worried about you earlier. Hang in there, we love and support you, you know that.
