Today was an absolutely beautiful day so I decided to go for a hike. Not sure why, but I did. I was going to take my nephew but his mom was too tired and he didn’t want to go without her. When they baled on me I thought about just going home but called to see if my niece wanted to go. She did and was excited. So, we went. The hike is pretty intense. I’ve done the whole thing one other time but didn’t remember it being THIS intense. I think last time I had others encouraging me (I was the one lagging last time) and this time I had to encourage my niece so it makes it a different experience.
When I say this is an intense hike, I mean it. I’m not exagerating when I say 90% of the hike is uphill. It’s not logically possible but it really is about 90% uphill. The downhill portions are killer…I actually didn’t like them because they are so steep. It’s a two mile loop around the hill and we did take one detour down to the beach for a bit.
I did fine on the hike and had so much fun. Then we went for dinner and she got an ice cream. I’m going to eat the second half of last night’s pie in a bit. I deserve it after that hike. 
On the way home I drove two walking routes I’m thinking of doing. I wanted to know how far they were before setting out on them. Both are perfect, one is 1.2 miles the other is 2 miles. That’s perfect for an evening walk.
According to my exercise log I burned 866 calories on the hike. That seems very high to me so I’m not really looking at that too much.
I got on the scale this morning and almost cried. I gained two pounds. I was really upset at first but then realized that my time of the month is coming — probably tomorrow — so I relaxed a bit. Just moving forward.
Saturday’s table tally: Calories: 1,251, NQ: A Plus I drank so much water I feel like I should be floating away. LOL
OK, I’m going to go enjoy my Burst-O-Berry Pie slice and watch a movie. I also need to take a shower, I’m so sweaty and sticky. Plus, I’m going to enjoy the rocking storm outside. Beautiful rain, thunder, and lightning. Love this weather, especially after a GORGEOUS day like we had today.
